THEY CAME FOR MY FAMILY
Why speaking up for DEI got me threats in the wealth industry

I just dropped the most controversial episode of my podcast yet. Fair warning: this one's not for the faint-hearted.
When Investment News asked me to comment on DEI policies in wealth management, I spoke my truth. What happened next exposed the ugly underbelly of an industry desperate to maintain its status quo.
The shit hit the fan.
Within hours of the article going live, the messages started pouring in. Not public comments. Private messages. Because that's how cowards operate.
One financial advisor – someone I hadn't spoken to in nearly a decade – slid into my DMs with what started as "friendly advice." When I didn't back down, the mask came off. Fast.
In this raw, unfiltered episode, I share the actual messages I received:
Claims that I've been "brainwashed by liberal propaganda"
Accusations that I'm "spreading hate against the white man"
And the line that pushed me over the edge: "your family will pay the consequences in the long term."
Yeah. He went there.
Why does diversity in wealth management trigger such visceral reactions?
Simple. Money is power. And the wealth industry has been dominated by one demographic for generations.
When I pointed out that clients prefer working with advisors they're comfortable with – whether that's women, minorities, veterans, or LGBTQ+ professionals – it wasn't a political statement. It was a business reality.
But for some, even acknowledging this basic truth was enough to warrant threats.
In this episode, I break down:
Why DEI isn't just "political bullshit" – it's about getting the best players on the field
The uncomfortable fact that white women have benefited from DEI policies more than any other group
How the wealth industry's silence has perpetuated inequality
Why I'm making these private attacks public
As I say in the episode: "If you attack my family, the people I support and are here for, you better not miss."
This is bigger than me.
This fight isn't just about one article or one advisor's fragile ego. It's about who gets access to financial expertise. It's about who builds wealth in America.
When we limit who gets into this industry, we limit who gets helped. Period.
For those watching from the sidelines – your silence isn't neutrality. It's complicity.
For those already in the trenches with me – thank you. The backlash only proves we're hitting a nerve.
It's time to choose a side.
Are you going to stand with those defending the status quo? Or are you ready to join the movement to transform how wealth works in America?
The battle lines are drawn. And I'm not backing down.

No bullshit. No filter. Just truth.

P.S. If you know someone who's been silent about these issues, forward them this email. Sometimes people just need to know they're not alone in the fight.
